President Hamel focuses on the Centrality of the Gospel

Day 1 of the EFCA Leadership Conference - Contagious Hope included a prayer walk, leadership team meetings, ReachGlobal Summits, the outreach project, afternoon worship service and the ReachGlobal dinner.

Twelve students who ran and prayed from the EFCA national office in Minneapolis, Minnesota to the Hyatt Regency Columbus, Ohio (site of the leadership conference) received a standing ovation from the crowd. Fritz Dale, executive director of EFCA ReachNational, prayed over the young leaders. Joel Hanson and his team led conference attendees in heartfelt worship.

The Columbus church planters were introduced and President Bill Hamel shared his message from Romans 1:8-17. Emphasizing the gospel as the core of the EFCA, Hamel reminded attendees of the gospel's simplicity and the Holy Spirit’s transformation of lives through the work of the gospel. He exhorted all to have confidence that the gospel is true in every circumstance.

At the ReachGlobal Dinner attendees learned of the EFCA’s kingdom partnerships in over 75 countries across the world and the new face of the international mission: "the world sending the world.” Stephen, East Asia Area director, presented the Southeast Asia strategy.
